DJ Allison Peck

Allison Peck grew up in Thousand Oaks, CA and spent much of her teenage years going to shows at the Troubadour, Roxy and Cobalt Cafe. She moved to San Luis Obispo to attend Cal Poly as a business major, but one of the first things she did was join KCPR, the college radio station (claim to fame: Weird Al Yankovich recorded 'My Bologna’ in the bathroom next to the station) where she found her people and cemented her love of DJing. After college, Allison moved to Chicago and began working as a wedding DJ, spinning everywhere from Wisconsin barns to fancy downtown hotels. Returning to California in 2013, Allison put her business degree to use and co-founded Heart of Gold DJs. In her spare time, you can find her on her bike, playing co-rec soccer or attempting the latest NYT crossword puzzle.

“We had the pleasure of working with DJ Allison Peck and her assistant Stella for our June 2015 wedding. From the initial phone call to email correspondences to meeting in person, everything just felt organized, easy, and relaxed.  Allison is highly professional and will go through the entire day’s events to be sure you have everything you need and she will take note of anything you definitely want or don’t want that day. 

Allison served as MC during our ceremony, and made sure to gather everyone so events start in a timely manner. She went above and beyond by making sure the officiant was wired up and the groom’s father, best man, and maid of honor were ready to make their speeches.  The day ran stress free for us as a couple and we were able to enjoy ourselves at our own party.

My fiancé also threw in a surprise lip sync contest that evening and Allison did a wonderful job gathering everyone together to participate and cheer for their favorite contestant.  I must say that Allison has a voice that’s meant for a microphone.  She puts everyone at ease while also commanding their attention.  It’s not intrusive and loud like some DJs can be, but just pleasant. =) The music was great and had everyone dancing until our venue told us we had to leave.
